Chapitre 40Rubber and articles thereof

Les positions de ce chapitre de l'AHECC, la classification australienne des exportations publiée par l'ABS. Chacune s'ouvre sur les codes qu'elle contient.

Le chapitre 40 suit l'état du caoutchouc : non vulcanisé aux positions 4001 à 4006, vulcanisé non durci ensuite, et caoutchouc durci au 4017. La vulcanisation est le fait qui déplace la marchandise, pas l'apparence ni l'élasticité.

Les pneumatiques concentrent les erreurs. Le 4011 se subdivise par type de véhicule — voiture de tourisme, autobus, engin agricole, aéronef — et non par dimension ou par marque. Un pneumatique rechapé relève du 4012, jamais du 4011, et les chambres à air ont leur propre position.
